A minor girl was allegedly subjected to rape and a post-rape torture in Sanghar the other day, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.

The girl sustained multiple wounds of cuts with a sharp object, including one on her tongue.

A youth, Wazeer Rajar, was booked in connection with the crime.

An FIR was registered at Chautiarion police station in Sanghar district.

The accused, son of an influential and politically affiliated landlord Waris Rajar, remains at large.

The initial medical report by government hospital Sanghar established rape and torture with the victim, Shadbano Mallah.

Speaking to the media at Civil Hospital, Hyderabad where PPP Secretary Information Shazia Marri inquired after the rape victim, she said that whosoever was responsible for the gruesome incident would be brought to justice so that other girls, too, could speak up about their ordeals.

She said those people giving a twist to the incident must come to their senses. “Such people should be dealt with under the cybercrime laws,” she opined.

Shazia said that since the incident took place in her constituency; therefore, she was naturally concerned about it. “I am myself a mother. I can understand the pain and the agony the girl is going through.”

The PPP leader regretted that normally victims hushed up such incidents and this emboldened the culprits.

She informed that a Board of doctors had been constituted to examine Shadbano. “The victim is presently under treatment,” she said, adding that she had in her mind the plan to pursue this case. “My sister Quratul Ain is following this case.”
