The Punjab government has decided to link all CCTV cameras installed in hospitals under the administrative control of the Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department with the Punjab Safe City Authority, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
According to a circular issued by the department, all emergency and outpatient department (OPD) cameras in these hospitals must be integrated with the Safe City monitoring system.
Hospitals have been instructed to provide full access and necessary support to Safe City Authority teams in Lahore.
The directive also allows for the installation of new cameras wherever required, in addition to integrating existing surveillance systems.
The circular has been circulated to vice-chancellors of all medical universities, principals and deans of medical colleges and specialized medical institutions, heads of nursing and allied health institutes, and medical superintendents of teaching hospitals.
All relevant officials have been instructed to ensure full compliance with the integration plan.
