Cars registration up 30%, motorcycles 20%

Despite the sharp rise in prices, there was a 30 percent increase in cars registration and a 20 percent increase in motorcycles registration during the previous fiscal year compared to 2023-24. reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Punjab Department of Excise and Taxation deposited an additional Rs20 billion in the national kitty during the previous fiscal year of 2024-25.

It is necessary to mention here that 1.05 million motorcycles and 139,000 cars were registered during the previous fiscal year 2024-25.

During the previous fiscal year, 10,00,000 motorcycles were registered, while 800,000 motorcycles were registered in the fiscal year 2023-24.

As many as 92,000 vehicles were registered in the previous fiscal year, and 68,500 in 2023-24.

As per the statistics, 47,700 commercial vehicles were registered during the previous fiscal year, and 39,5000 commercial vehicles were registered.

The statistics showed that Rs29 billion were deposited in the national kitty in the previous fiscal year, and Rs19 billion were deposited in fiscal year 2023.

Excise officials are expecting that during the current fiscal year additional amount of Rs32 billion to Rs35 billion will be deposited in the national treasurer.
