Jennifer Lopez has reportedly parted ways with her record label following the underwhelming performance of her latest album and she’s now an independent artist.
According to The Sun, the 56-year-old pop icon has released her new single Birthday via a smaller music company, signaling a major shift in her music career after her one-album deal with BMG ended quietly.
A music insider revealed: “Jennifer is obviously massively successful and talented but it’s been hard for her to find a label that truly aligns with her vision. After This Is Me… Now failed to meet expectations, both parties decided to part ways.”
The album peaked at No. 55 in the UK and sparked mixed reviews from critics and fans alike.
Despite the setback, Lopez appears unbothered. Currently on her Up All Night tour, she turned heads in Turkey on Wednesday night with a jaw-dropping, high-energy show at the Regnum Carya Hotel. The performance also doubled as a pre-birthday celebration, as JLo marked her 56th birthday in style.
Dressed in a plunging silver leotard and thigh-high boots, the multi-hyphenate star lit up the stage with a series of bold costume changes — from a black thong and bra combo to a lace bodysuit with a dramatic cut-out.
Her show included sensual choreography and provocative moves, continuing the trend of recent performances that have drawn both praise and controversy. In Tenerife earlier this month, she simulated X-rated dance routines that sparked online buzz.
Lopez also debuted what fans believe is a revenge anthem aimed at ex-husband Ben Affleck, whom she divorced in August 2024.
The lyrics hint at betrayal, pain, and personal growth, with Lopez declaring she’s “stronger, wiser, bulletproof.” It seems JLo is entering a new era .
