Love-seeking girl murdered on jirga’s order in Rawalpindi

Police arrested eight people, including the husband, father-in-law of a girl, who was strangled to death after a verdict by jirga in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday. 

The horrible incident took place in Fauji Colony in the jurisdiction of Pir Wadhai Police Station in Rawalpindi.

Sources said that the girl, Sidra, went to Azad Kashmir after becoming annoyed with her husband, whom she married against her will.

On her return, she was brutally killed and later buried in the darkness of the night.

Later, the sign of her grave also disappeared. Husband of the girl Ziaur Rehman, filed a first information report (FIR) against her in which he stated that her wife fled after stealing gold, jewellery and currency.

Sources further revealed that the girl contracted an un-Islamic nikah with a man namely Usman.

Police arrested the grave digger, and former chairman of the union council, husband of the girl, in connection with her gruesome murder.
