Pakistan Ambassador to Germany H.E. Saqlain Syedah hosted a luncheon in honour of the sports delegation currently visiting here in connection with the ongoing FISU World University Games.
The delegation headed by HEC Director Sports Javed Memon comprised the best national universities' athletes and game managers/coaches.
Speaking on this occasion, H.E. Madam Ambassador Saqlain Syedah formally welcomed the delegation at a Pakistani Rice and Spice restaurant in Düsseldorf with the background music of the “Pakistan favourite dill dill Pskistan” song. While mentioning Olympian Arshad Nadeem, the ambassador said that Pakistan is promoting its soft image through sports. She said after Brexit, Germany has emerged the sole leader of the European Union and Pakistan must improve bilateral ties. She said Pakistan is exporting textiles, footballs, cutlery, medical and surgical equipment, etc. to Germany, and she was working hard to improve the list.
She emphasised learning the German language and boosting MoUs to improve bilateral ties in various fields.
Mr Javed Ali Memon, head of the delegation, conveyed a message and best wishes on behalf of the HEC Chairman, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad.
It is noteworthy that Pakistan's 40-member contingent is currently in Germany to participate in seven games, including Table Tennis, taekwondo, judo, swimming, athletics, long jump and Archery.
