Legendary Pakistani folk and Saraiki singer Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi has once again become the centre of attention after revealing that his grave is already prepared in his hometown of Isa Khel.
The revelation came during a recent interview with journalist Irshad Bhatti, where the veteran singer spoke openly about death, faith and preparing for the Hereafter.
During the conversation, Irshad Bhatti asked Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi a thoughtful question about life's inevitable end. While praying that the legendary singer is blessed with a long life, Bhatti said that everyone has to leave this world one day and asked whether he had made any preparations for that moment.
In response, Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi revealed that his grave is already fully prepared in Isa Khel. He even told Bhatti that if he ever visited the place while he was still alive, he would personally show him where it was.
"If you ever come there while I'm alive, I will show you the place myself," the singer said.
Esakhelvi explained that although his family has a separate ancestral graveyard, he decided to prepare his own burial place a short distance away. He added that the site has space for two or three graves, including one reserved for his wife.
When Bhatti asked what inspired the decision, the veteran singer said the idea came to him after he built a farmhouse and a mosque on his land. While completing the project, he felt there should also be a place for his final resting place nearby, so he later completed the grave and its surrounding boundary wall.
One of the interview's most memorable moments came when Bhatti asked, "How does it feel to think that one day everything will continue as usual, but Attaullah Khan Esakhelvi will no longer be here?" The emotional exchange struck a chord with many viewers and was widely shared across social media.
