The match marks a historic occasion as it is the first-ever Test to be played at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.
Speaking after the toss, Pakistan captain Babar Azam said his side would also have chosen to bat first had they won the toss, expressing confidence in the team's preparations for the contest.
The biggest talking point from Pakistan's lineup was the Test debut of 33-year-old left-arm spinner Ali Usman, who earned his maiden cap for the national side.
