As many as four people lost their lives and four others seriously wounded in a landmine blast in Upper Khurram area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Wednesday, reported 24NewsHDTV channel.
The incident occurred in the Pewar Sharamkhel area of Upper Kurram District, confirmed District Police Officer (DPO) Habibullah.
According to the DPO, the explosion occurred when a member of a group of wood-collectors heading towards a mountain stepped on the landmine planted on a roadside.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Following the explosion, security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation amid fears of more landmines in the vicinity.
