Sindh Assembly members least paid in Pakistan

The details of the salaries of federal and provincial parliamentarians have surfaced, revealing stark differences in monthly earnings across the country with members of the Sindh Assembly pocketing lowest pay, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

According to official data, members of the Sindh Assembly are receiving the lowest gross monthly salary among all the legislatures across Pakistan. A Sindh Assembly MPA is taking home only Rs155,000 pay every month.

Official sources said the gross salary for both National Assembly and Senate members has been aligned with that of a federal secretary, currently standing at Rs705,000 per month.

A member of the Punjab Assembly is drawing Rs485,000 monthly, while a Balochistan lawmaker is getting Rs440,000 as monthly salary.

Even a member of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly is paid Rs465,000 as a monthly salary, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly member is drawing Rs260,000 per month.
