Punjab CM to inaugurate three new hospitals one after other

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate three hospitals including Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha on July 15, Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research on July 31, Jinnah Institute of Cardiology is likely to be inaugurated on August 15, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

This was informed in an important meeting regarding Specialized Healthcare Department chaired by Maryam Nawaz Sharif in Lahore on Thursday.

The Chief Minister was given a detailed briefing about Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha, NS Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research, and Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif was also informed in detail about healthcare service delivery.

According to briefing, 22 million patients of Punjab were treated free of cost while 13550 free heart surgeries of children were performed free of cost under CM Children's Heart Surgery Programme. 

Free medicines were provided to 728,000 patients at their doorsteps in Punjab.

Capital work of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology Sargodha completed.

Package A and B of Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment and Research will be completed on July 31.

Recruitment to be completed in Jinnah Institute of Cardiology Lahore by July 10.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif was also briefed about the Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme (DDLP).

Maryam Nawaz Sharif formally approved the Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme.

Overseas Pakistani specialist doctors will be included for short-term service in public sector hospitals of Punjab.

Businessmen and Pakistani and foreign specialist doctors with good reputation will be brought to Punjab for short-term service.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif decided to give better remuneration to doctors coming under the Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme (DDLP).

Specialist doctors coming from abroad will be allowed to perform 8 types of advanced surgeries under the Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme (DDLP).

The meeting was further briefed that 12 hospitals selected for Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme (DDLP) deployment.

Overseas Pakistanis and foreign national specialists will be eligible for Diaspora Doctor Lokum Programme (DDLP). 

For Diaspora Doctor Lokum Programme (DDLP), it is mandatory for the doctor to be a post-graduate, have 3 years of fellowship experience abroad and have a fitness certificate. 

Under Diaspora Doctor Lokum Programme, a doctor coming from abroad will be required to work in Punjab for 15 days.

Diaspora Doctor Lokum Programme dashboard presented to Maryam Nawaz Sharif for decision to make it live as soon as possible.

An operational web portal will be established for Diaspora Doctor Lokum Programme. 

The portal will have online registration, credentials, commitment and verification.

Information about payment and reporting and deployment will be recorded.

Doctors coming from abroad should also train Punjab local staff. 

Maryam Nawaz Sharif directed to start a new programme for the nursing sector on the lines of the Diaspora Doctor Locum Programme (DDLP). 

Maryam Nawaz said specialist doctors and nurses coming from outside will be given the best package and directors of hospitals should be very efficient. 

If the best trained doctor or nurse wants to come to Nawaz Sharif Cancer Hospital, then come, Maryam Nawaz said.

She said bringing the best human resources to Punjab is her mission.
