In an important meeting in the Ministry of Interior on law and order and public meetings of the political parties, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Friday directed the administration to ensure that political parties hold their meetings at designated places, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The meeting which was chaired by Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid decided to bring additional personnel from Punjab and KP to assist Islamabad Police.
It was also decided to call in additional Rangers and FC personnel to ensure law and order.
Sheikh Rashid went on to say that the public meetings of political parties should not be an impediment to the movement of citizens of the capital.
A control room has also been set up at the Interior Ministry for the security of political rallies.
Advisor Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan also attended the meeting. Dr Babar Awan said that the government would take all constitutional measures to protect the lives and property of the citizens.
The key members of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi administrations and senior officials including the interior secretary were among those who attended the meeting of the interior ministry.
