Stressing that saving fuel was everyone’s responsibility, Senior Sindh Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said on Wednesday that the provincial government would support the federal government’s decision to enforce a lockdown in case the latter decided to do so in view of the ongoing Iran war, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He said that no government plan could succeed without people’s cooperation. “The provincial government is ready to cooperate with the Center to make its austerity drive successful,” the minister announced.
He said that the provincial ministers had decided not to receive salaries for three months. “Government vehicles have been grounded, while there is work from home on Fridays,” he said, adding that the government would continue to take such measures until the situation in the Gulf was normalized.
Memon said that the priority should be to prevent the situation where there was a shortage of fuel.
