Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister, Senator Ishaq Dar, held a significant telephone conversation today with Saidov Bakhtiyor Odilovich, the Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan, on Sunday.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the discussion centred around the existing bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan, with a particular focus on the Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Line Project.

Both leaders expressed optimism about the early finalisation of the framework agreement for the regional connectivity initiative, which is expected to enhance trade, transport, and strategic cooperation among the three countries.

The proposed railway line is seen as a critical step toward facilitating efficient regional integration and economic development.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the broader regional situation, underlining the importance of stability and collaboration for collective progress.

Earlier in the day, Senator Dar paid a visit to the revered shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (RA) in Lahore. He offered prayers and reviewed the ongoing reconstruction and renovation work at the site. During the visit, he directed relevant officials to ensure the timely completion of the work in accordance with the approved plans and technical standards.

Following these engagements, the Deputy Prime Minister departed from Lahore to Turkiye, accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as part of the premier’s official multi-nation tour.
