To celebrate the Pak forces that humbled India in Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, the Pakistan Navy will be formally honoured during the innings break of the Pakistan Super League Season 10 final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium today.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, similar ceremonies earlier paid tribute to the Pakistan Army and Air Force.

President Asif Ali Zardari arrived from Islamabad to attend the championship match and the Navy tribute. He will spend three days in Lahore and stay tonight at the Governor's House.

The grand finale—scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Pakistan time—pits the Quetta Gladiators against the Lahore Qalandars. Should rain intervene, a reserve day has been set for 26 May.

The champion will collect a prize of US$500,000, while the runners-up will receive US$200,000.

Lahore clinched the last playoff berth, yet they convincingly defeated Quetta by 79 runs in the teams’ first league encounter; the return match was washed out.

Across nine PSL seasons, the two sides have met nineteen times, winning nine games apiece with one no result, leaving tonight’s decider finely poised.

With silverware, national pride, and a heartfelt naval salute on the card, fans are counting down the minutes to one of the most anticipated nights of the sporting year.
