A province-wide anti-polio campaign will commence across Balochistan on Monday, May 26, 2025, targeting more than 2.6 million children under the age of five, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

The seven-day campaign is part of the government’s continued efforts to eradicate the polio virus, which still lingers in the environment, according to health officials.

Coordinator Inam-ul-Haq announced that 26,60,000 children will be administered polio drops during the drive, which also includes the provision of Vitamin A supplements to boost children’s immunity.

The campaign will mobilize over 11,000 teams across the province, with all logistical and operational preparations completed, said the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) Balochistan.

“The virus remains present in the environment, which makes it crucial for every child to receive polio drops along with routine immunization,” emphasized EOC Balochistan Coordinator.

As per the TV channel report, the ongoing circulation of the virus poses a persistent threat, particularly to unvaccinated children.

Parents are being strongly urged to cooperate with health teams and ensure their children receive both the polio vaccine and other essential immunizations.

“Vaccination will protect children from polio, measles, pneumonia, and several other life-threatening diseases,” added Inam-ul-Haq.

The provincial government has also assured complete security for all vaccination teams throughout the campaign, aiming to create a safe and efficient environment for healthcare workers and the families they serve.
