A massive fire broke out in a sector behind Margalla Hills in Islamabad on Monday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The fire erupted in Sector F-5, located behind Margalla Hills. After receiving the report, fire brigade teams rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control.
According to the district administration, firefighters reached the site soon after the blaze erupted on the hills.
Rescue teams, along with people from nearby areas, started efforts to contain the fire and stop it from spreading further across the forest area.
The district administration stated that firefighting staff was working with available resources to bring the blaze under control as quickly as possible.
The administration also urged citizens to avoid visiting the affected area during the operation to help rescue teams perform their work without interruption.
Officials added that further updates would be shared after the fire was fully extinguished. Margalla Hills have witnessed several fire incidents during dry weather in recent years, raising concerns about forest protection and emergency response measures in Islamabad.
