The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially unveiled the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2026, confirming that Pakistan will clash with India on February 15 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, 24NewsHD TV reported on Tuesday. 

The schedule was announced during a ceremony held in Mumbai, which was attended by Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav, former skipper Rohit Sharma, India’s women’s team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, and Sri Lankan star Angelo Mathews, according to Indian media reports.

Pakistan will begin their campaign on February 7 against the Netherlands in Colombo.

One of the most highly anticipated fixtures of the tournament, the Pakistan–India clash, will take place on February 15 in Colombo, promising high drama and global attention.

The event will run from February 7 to March 8, with the first semi-final to be played in Kolkata and the second semi-final scheduled for Colombo on March 4.

The grand final will be held on March 8, either in Ahmedabad or Colombo, depending on Pakistan's surge in the event. If Pakistan reach the final, then it would be held in Colombo.   

India will kick off their own campaign in Mumbai, where they will play their opening match against the United States.

The 20 participating teams have been divided into four groups:

Group A: Pakistan, India, Namibia, Netherlands, United States
Group B: Australia, Ireland, Oman, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe
Group C: Bangladesh, England, Italy, Nepal, West Indies
Group D: Afghanistan, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, UAE

The group stage will feature three matches per day, ensuring nonstop action for cricket fans around the world.

While India will play across multiple venues, Pakistan will play all of their matches in Colombo or Kandy, offering fans a clear travel route as they follow the team across Sri Lanka.
