Pakistani rupee makes gains against US dollar

The Weekly Currency Market Report was released on Saturday.

According to the report, the value of the Pakistan rupee improved this week and the US dollar became cheaper by 8 paisa in the interbank market. The dollar closed at Rs 281.02 in the interbank market this week.

In the open market, the dollar became cheaper by 10 paisa this week and closed at Rs282.15. The difference between the price of the dollar in the interbank and open market this week stood at Rs1.3.

The euro increased by 93 paisa this week to Rs331.14. The British pound became more expensive by Rs2.76 this week and closed at Rs381.34.

The UAE dirham increased by 1 paisa this week to Rs77.54, while the Saudi riyal increased by 3 paisa this week to Rs 75.66.

SBP’s foreign exchange reserves increased by Rs1.40 crore this week. The State Bank's reserves increased to $14.45 billion. Commercial banks' reserves increased by $28.6 million to $5.39 billion, the State Bank of Pakistan announced.

Pakistan’s total reserves increased by $43 million this week, the State Bank announced.

Pakistan’s total reserves increased to $18.85 billion this week, the State Bank confirmed.
