As many as 76 officers and personnel of the Federal Investigation Agency’s Islamabad Zone have been awarded various penalties following departmental accountability proceedings, FIA officials said.
According to the officials, 10 employees were dismissed from service, while eight others were demoted.
Promotions were withheld for three years in 19 cases, for two years in 27 cases and for one year in five cases.
In one case, an employee was awarded a penalty involving a three-step reduction in the pay scale, while six employees were reprimanded.
FIA officials said the officers and personnel were given an opportunity to present their stance during the departmental proceedings.
They said penalties were imposed on the basis of available records and evidence.
The accountability proceedings were conducted under the Civil Servants (Efficiency and Discipline) Rules, 2020.
Officials said the FIA Islamabad Zone was pursuing a zero-tolerance policy on disciplinary violations and had announced strict action against corruption, misuse of authority and unprofessional conduct.
Separately, three FIA officers were awarded Commendation Certificates Class-II for good performance.
