The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) arrested six suspects during operations against drug smuggling in various cities across the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to the ANF, a total of 214.22 kg of narcotics, valued at over Rs 27.3 million, was seized during eight separate operations.
About 1.5 kg of 'Ice' (crystal methamphetamine) was seized from two suspects bound for Bahrain at Peshawar Airport.
As many as 80 heroin-filled capsules weighing 460 grams were recovered from the stomach of a passenger bound for Jeddah at Lahore Airport; the suspect was arrested.
ANF seized 1.750 kg of weed from a carton within a parcel arriving from the USA at the Lahore Airport cargo shed and 210 grams of cannabinoids were recovered from clothing inside a parcel destined for the UAE at a courier office in Islamabad.
The officials seized 8.4 kg of hashish from a motorcyclist near the Baleli check post in Quetta District; the suspect was arrested.
Five kg of hashish and one kg of opium were seized from a motorcyclist near Faisalabad Road, Sheikhupura; the suspect was arrested while 900 grams of hashish was seized from a vehicle near University Road, Peshawar; the suspect was arrested and 195 kg of opium was seized near Aghbarg, Quetta District.
