The Civil Secretariat in Peshawar has been evacuated with immediate effect due to security concerns, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
Secretariat sources said the mosque located inside the Civil Secretariat has also been closed as a precautionary measure amid the security concerns.
The Directorate of Excise and Taxation has also been evacuated, while the former FATA Secretariat building has been cleared.
Meanwhile, entry into Police Lines Peshawar has also been restricted due to security concerns.
Swabi Motorway
The Islamabad Motorway has been closed to all traffic at the Anbar Interchange Swabi, causing severe difficulties for travelers, while the PTI’s plan for September 27 remains unclear, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The motorway has been blocked at the interchange, with all petrol pumps and restaurants at the Anbar Interchange rest area also shut down.
Travelers heading towards Islamabad have been advised to use alternative routes due to the closure.
It remains unclear whether the PTI will hold a rally or sit-in at the Swabi Interchange, on September 27, or proceed towards Islamabad.
The decision on whether PTI supporters will camp at the interchange or advance towards Islamabad is yet to be clarified.
