Former member of the National Assembly Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf has died at the age of 90, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to family sources, his funeral prayer will be offered at 10 am on Saturday, September 26, at Masjid Shuhada in Farid Town, Sahiwal.
Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf was regarded as a longtime associate of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz leader Nawaz Sharif.
He was elected to the National Assembly four times on a PML-N ticket and also served as parliamentary secretary for education.
The veteran politician was a member of the Pakistan Bar Council and served as chairman of the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Law and Justice.
