The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in Islamabad has rejected a claim by Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence as “false and fabricated,” regarding the destruction of a Pakistani post in the Gulistan sector along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to the ministry’s fact-check, an attempted act of aggression from the Afghan side was thwarted during the night of September 24–25 in the Gulistan sector.
The ministry stated that Pakistani forces responded to the attempted aggression and carried out an operation against Afghan Taliban posts, resulting in the deaths of at least 13 Afghan Taliban personnel, while several others were injured.
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting said the Afghan Ministry of Defense’s claim regarding the destruction of a Pakistani post was contrary to the facts.
It further stated that footage allegedly showing the border skirmish and the operation against Afghan Taliban positions was circulating on social media.
The development comes amid heightened tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, with both sides exchanging accusations following recent cross-border incidents.
