Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid a visit to the Aafiat Old Age Home Multan where he went to the rooms of all the elderly living there, met them individually and spent time with them, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Many men and women were teary-eyed while recounting the stories of their family and how they had turned their backs on them.
The CM consoled them after listening their heart wrenching stories.
He was accompanied by Provincial Minister Dr Javed Akram, Aamir Mir and other concerned officials.
He also reviewed the facilities being provided to the elderly.
The CM visited the dining room and advised the staff to take care of these elderly as if they were their own parents.
Elders are a wellspring of mercy, he continued, and their prayers can alter our course in life.
He added that Islam also teaches to take care of parents in old age in every way.
CM visits Children Hospital Multan and PIC expansion project
The Chief Minister Punjab also visited Children Hospital Multan and Multan Institute of Cardiology expansion project where he inspected emergency ward, HDU, and other wards of the hospital. He also inspected the medical facilities of the children ward and instructed the urgent planning for the Emergency Tower Project in Children's Complex and to prepare PC One for emergency tower project as soon as possible.
Mohsin Naqvi inquired about the well-being of the under-treatment children; he interacted with parents to gauge their opinion of the medical facilities.
During his visit, the Dean of Children’s Complex gave a briefing to the CM about the medical facilities provided in the hospital.
According to him, there are 20 emergency beds and about 150 patients are admitted on daily basis. The 24.5 Multan PIC project is being built at a cost of Rs520 billion.
On the other hand, the CM ordered the completion of OPD by 30th May, utilizing all available resources.
Provincial Ministers Dr Javed Akram, Aamir Mir and related officials were also present on during the visit.
