Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has said that PTI is the only political force that can fix all the woes of the country, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing via video link to PTI workers on the occasion of the party’s 27th foundation day, Imran Khan challenged all political parties to contest elections and let the nation choose their rulers.
He predicted on the next foundation day of his party, it would be in power and the country would be on the path of progress. "On the 28th anniversary of PTI, you will be in power."
Fomer prime minister that ten million overseas Pakistanis are the biggest asset of the country. He added that the country would not need foreign financial aid if a large number of overseas nationals make investments in Pakistan.
Khan said that overseas nationals lack confidence in the prevailing system. Pakistan will not see any change if the corrupt people remain undefeated, added the PTI chief.
“Those people blocked the path of electronic voting machines (EVMs) system who want vote rigging. I am challenging all political parties to contest elections and let the nation choose their rulers.”
Khan founded the PTI on April 25, 1996, in Lahore.
Khan asked his workers to work for "real freedom", noting that prosperity comes through justice, democracy, and freedom.
The PTI chief stressed that whoever wins elections, wins them through fair means — a response to his political opponents who have said that even if the polls are held earlier than scheduled, Khan won't accept the results.
"We will come into power through public mandate. I hope that our country comes out of the quagmire it is in next year," the former prime minister predicted. PTI Chairman also PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, saying the latter wanted to debar him from politics.
Khan flayed Mr Sharif, saying, "How can Nawaz Sharif decide the fate of the country because what belongs to him is abroad. Nawaz Sharif first fled the country during Pervez Musharraf's regime. Now when the court sentenced him, he fled the country again on the pretext of a blood platelet count."
He slammed the incumbent government, saying, "People with more money are occupying the seats in the assemblies." "There is no rule of law in the country."Khan said that these people are using delay tactics to avoid the Punjab Assembly elections on May 14. We will not let the PDM run away from the elections as we stand by the Supreme Court's decision," he adds.
