In order to facilitate trade with Iran, Islamabad has granted Iran a permission to trade with a third country through Pakistan.
The Ministry of Commerce issues notification of Transit of Goods through Pakistan Order 2026. The order will come into effect immediately. According to a notification, the federal government has amended the Import and Export Control Act, 1950. This order will apply to the movement of these transit goods, whether they depart from any third country. And the transit goods are delivered to any place in Iran via Pakistan.
Pakistan has also determined routes for the transportation of goods. These will include the Gwadar and Gabd routes. Karachi/Port Qasim, Lyari, Mara, Pasni and Gwadar, Port Qasim, Khuzdar, Dalbandin and Taftan routes is part of the order. Turbat, Hoshab, Panjgur, Nag, Besima, Khuzdar, Quetta/Lak Pass, Dalbandin, Nokundi and Taftan are included in it. Transportation of goods will be subject to the rules made under the Customs Act 1969 and transportation of goods will be in accordance with the procedures prescribed by the FBR.
