Taking a big step towards developing Islamabad traffic police’s licensing system on modern lines, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Sunday inaugurated paperless licensing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfaraz Virk and other officers were also present on the occasion.
The IGP visited all paperless counters and issued instructions.
Speaking on the occasion, the IGP said the step had been taken to save precious time of citizens. “Earlier people had to fill in various forms such as medical and others,” he said, adding, “But now they don’t need to bring any document, a photocopy or a photo with them.”
Rizvi said that the chief traffic officer and his team completed the project in shortest possible time for which they deserved appreciation.
He informed that soon the system of licensing fee would also be digitalized. “Now citizens only bring their computerized national identity cards with them and obtain their licenses,” he concluded.
