Balochistan government has decided to impose a ban on the use of plastic bags across the province, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.
Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti announced this decision after chairing a meeting on Safa Quetta Integrated Solid Waste Management Project.
Balochistan Chief Minister was briefed that one thousand tons of garbage were being collected daily from 84 wards of Quetta city and so far 281 thousand tons of garbage have been removed from the city and 18 major drains have also been cleared.
On the occasion, CM Bugti ordered complete ban on use of polythene bags which will help protect the environment and make Quetta neater and cleaner. He also urged public to support the initiative and make use of eco-friendly alternatives. The Chief Minister hoped that Quetta will soon become a model city for environmental improvement through these measures.
