National Assembly's Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Chairperson Hina Rabbani Khar has rejected the briefing of the Foreign Office officials as inadequate and expressed strong anger.
The meeting of the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly was chaired by Chairperson Hina Rabbani Khar.
Hina Rabbani Khar said that only long English has been written in the briefing, while the committee should be told in two sentences what was achieved from the visit.
She also raised strong objections to the absence of the Foreign Secretary and made it clear that if the Foreign Secretary does not attend the meeting in the future, the meeting will be cancelled.
When Foreign Secretary Amina Baloch arrived at the meeting, the Chairperson adjourned the meeting.
After the meeting, the foreign secretary expressed anger at the officers of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and said that it is irresponsible not to prepare a proper briefing for the committee meeting.
