The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday waived off the penalty of Rs 5,00,000 imposed on Ayub Medical College, Abbottabad, and ordered to continue the appointment of the dean process according to merit, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of the case, the Supreme Court also ordered the appointment of competent persons to the other vacant posts as per rules and regulations.
It is necessary to mention here that the Service Tribunal imposed a Rs50,000.00 fine on Ayub Medical College for not implementing court orders.
The Court also declared the appointment of the interim dean and other appointments as null and void.
A petition was filed in the Supreme Court challenging the appointment of the head of an anaesthesiology department.
