DPO Haripur Shafiullah Gandapur said on Wednesday that the postmortem report of five-year-old Ayat Noor had confirmed that she was raped before she was murdered, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The DPO said that the child died because of excessive oozing of blood and trauma, well before she was dumped in a well.
He said that four people had been taken into custody so far, while the police were conducting raids for the arrest of others. “All suspects are aged between 13 and 18 years,” the DPO said, adding that Usman, main suspect, had confessed to his crime before the court.
He went on to say that the girl’s body was recovered from a well after it was pointed out by a suspect, Hassan.
Gandapur said that all suspects had been sent to jail. “The child’s clothes, samples of her DNA and other evidence have been sent to a laboratory,” he said, adding that over 400 police personnel participated in the search operation.
Meanwhile, some startling details have begun to emerge.
It has been learnt that Noor had gone outside to play when she was lured by Hassan, who belonged to Nowshera.
