Rangers’ spokesman said that the law-enforcement agencies recovered arms and ammunition from Muslim Ghulam.
Ghulam, he added, was involved in drug supply and extortion in PIB Colony.
He further said that the suspect would receive extortion money from the owners of factories in Liaquatabad.
“The suspect was also involved in several incidents of firing when businessmen and industrialists would refuse to pay him the money (Bhatta),” the spokesman said, and added that his partner in crime was Salman Shooter, who had been arrested by Rangers and the SIU earlier and sent to jail.
“Following the arrest of Shooter, Ghulam fled to Balochistan, and had returned to Karachi some time back and was reorganizing his network,” the spokesman elaborated.
