A meeting of the Faculty of Surgery at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Pakistan (CPSP), was held to elect the new dean, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
The meeting was attended by elected faculty members from all four provinces of the country.
The meeting began with expressions of deep grief over the passing of former Dean of the Faculty of Surgery and Director of Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre, Prof Shahid Rasool.
The gathering paid tribute to his invaluable contributions to medical education and surgery in Pakistan, and Fateha was recited for his departed soul.
Following this, the process to elect a new Dean was completed, and by unanimous decision, Prof Faisal Bilal Lodhi, Principal of Faisalabad Medical College, was elected as the new Dean of the Faculty of Surgery.
On the occasion, CPSP President Prof Khalid Masood Gondal and members of the College Council extended heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected Dean.
Speaking to the assembly, Prof Faisal Bilal Lodhi outlined his vision for the Faculty of Surgery, emphasizing plans to enhance standards and professional excellence, introduce new fellowship programs, and modernize surgical training workshops in line with contemporary requirements.
