A group of British Indian Sikhs, who came to Pakistan on bicycles on a friendly visit under the leadership of Satwant Singh, were accorded a warm welcome in Lahore.
After crossing the Wagah-Attari border, the Sikh delegation arrived at Alhamra in Lahore, where they thanked the hosts for the warm reception.
“We received immense love wherever we went [in Pakistan],” said Satwant Singh.
Punjab Information Minister Fayyaz ul Hassan Chauhan, on the occasion, said that Kartarpur Corridor is a clear example of Pakistan’s love for the Sikh brethren.
“Our borders are always open for the Sikh brethren,” he added.
However, the minister regretted that the minorities in India, especially the Muslims, are being persecuted.
“The Muslims have been massacred [in New Delhi] for last two days,” said Chauhan.
Pakistan is trying its level best to ensure the liberty and dignity of its minorities, he added.
