Till death do us part was the outcome of a loving couple as they ended their lives by jumping into a Sanghar canal one after another after a tiff, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
First, the wife got stormed out of the car she was travelling in with her husband, ran towards Mathrao Canal and jumped into it. The husband quickly followed her love, chased her but it was too late as she has already plunged into the canal water.
He did not stop there, jumped after her into the canal but they were both swallowed by the fast-moving water.
According to police, the tragic incident occurred when the husband and wife, identified as 32-year-old Fida Hussain Shah and 25-year-old Mehrunisa Shah, were coming back to their home late night after visiting a spiritual healer with their 7-year-old daughter Ruqayya, 6-year-old niece and another relative Razi Shah from Tando Jam to Tando Mitha Khan.
Razi Shah told police that during traveling the husband and wife got into an argument over family matters.
Suddenly when Fida Hussain slowed down the car, his wife Mehransa Shah got out and jumped into the canal. Seeing this, Fida Shah also jumped in and ultimately both drowned.
Sanghar Police Station SHO Ali Akbar Khokhar reached the spot to review the scene and lead the rescue operation.
Till the latest reports, bodies of both husband and wife could not be found.
