Minor tremors of an earthquake felt in Harnai and its adjacent areas on Wednesday morning, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In the aftermath of the earthquake, people came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
Meanwhile, no loss of life or property was reported from any part of the capital due to the earthquake.
It is necessary to mention here that during the on-going month of February 2025, around 22 tremors of earthquake were felt across Pakistan.
The experts said that these minor earthquakes were part of “silver lining” and they are harmless. The further said that these kind of minor earthquakes which were assembled inside plates released the stored energy and help to avoid major earthquakes.
On February 24, 2925, an earthquake of 4.2 magnitude jolted Swat and its surrounding areas on Monday afternoon.
The epicenter of the earthquake was near Afghanistan’s border with Tajikistan while its depth was 140 kilometers.
No loss of life and property was reported from the area till the filing of this report.
Earlier on February 21, 2025, an earthquake measuring 4.4 on the scale jolted Swat and its adjoining areas in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the wee hours of Friday.
People came out of their homes in panic and started reciting verses from the Holy Quran. No loss of life and property was reported from any part of Swat.
The tremors were also felt in Shangla and Malakand areas.
According to the National Seismic Monitoring Centre, Islamabad, the epicenter of the earthquake was located near Swat at the depth of 21 kilometres.
