Modern security scanners will be installed at Karachi, Multan and Faisalabad airports, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to Pakistan Airport Authority (PAA), a modern baggage handling system will also be installed under the JICA project.
With the help of modern security scanners, it will be possible to detect incendiary materials.
Successful tendering of security equipment under the JICA Phase-2 project has been completed.
Pakistan Airports Authority delegation participated in the tendering and contract ceremony.
A contract worth more than Rs4 billion was signed with Tech International Company in Tokyo and the project is being completed with a Japanese grant.
