On the instructions of the Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, Capital Development Authority (CDA) has started work on installing charging points for electric vehicles across the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to sources, CDA will formulate a complete policy for electric charging stations, after which charging stations will be established.
Charging stations or points will be installed outside parking plazas, commercial and residential buildings.
SOPs have also been finalized for the regular construction of charging stations.
Initially, CDA has issued notices to install charging booths at all petrol pumps.
Charging stations will be installed at all petrol pumps in Islamabad from a safety point of view.
A proposal to make charging stations mandatory in the design of buildings to be built in the future is also under consideration.
