Pakistani actress Dananeer Mobeen has drawn attention to the bitter irony of labeling men as “protectors” while women Dr. Mehwish are tragically gunned down while performing their duties.

In a recent video addressing the killing of Dr. Mehwish, Dananeer criticized the silence and inaction that often follow such tragedies, questioning why accountability is rarely enforced.

Commenting on the video, she wrote: “Men are our protectors,” highlighting the stark contrast between societal expectations and the harsh realities faced by women.

The video features a man discussing the incident, explaining that Dr. Mehwish was shot because she told a male attendant accompanying a patient that the area was reserved for women’s check-ups and asked him to wait in the waiting area until the patient was available.

The speaker asked, “Just imagine, if it were your mother, sister, or wife, what would you do?”

He further criticized systemic apathy, noting that such cases often fail to receive attention unless they become trending topics on social media.

Legal procedures frequently fail to deliver justice, with cases either forgotten or resolved without accountability.

The speaker also reflected on broader societal issues, emphasizing that people often remain silent about injustices until personally affected.

The video concludes with a heartfelt prayer: “I hope Allah guides us all, and that none of us face such calamities where our voices go unheard. May Allah be our protector.”
