Gilgit-Balistan Chief Minister has demanded Rs7billion aid from the centre in a bid to revive the devastated infrastructure hit hard during recent flash floods in the province. Addressing a press conference on Saturday, Chief Minister Gulbar Khan said that the provincial government, having limited resources, will fail to address the situation following the floods.
The GB CM has invited the prime minister Shehbaz Sharif to visit the flood-stricken areas.
GB chief minister said seven districts have been badly affected from the floods, adding that Diamer district was badly devastated from the floods.
He said infrastructure of over Rs20 billion was destroyed due to the floods. GB Chief Minister reiterated the demand of getting aid to revive the power projects and collapsed bridges and overcome the water challenges.
He said till now 10 people have been killed and four injured due to the floods.
