Sugar prices have sharply increased in Multan's grain and open markets due to the ongoing sugar crisis.
The wholesale price of sugar has risen by Rs6 per kilogram.
According to the reports, sugar is being sold from Rs170 to Rs176 per kg, and the open market price of sugar is now Rs200 to Rs220 per kg.
The local administration has completely failed to ensure sale of sugar at controlled rates.
Citizens have expressed serious concern over the situation.
They are demanding that the government take immediate action to reduce sugar prices and control the black marketing of the commodity.
