President Asif Ali Zardari celebrated his 71st birthday today, receiving warm wishes from political leaders, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, who praised his contribution to Pakistan's democratic development and national unity.

Born on 26 July 1955, Zardari is serving as Pakistan's 14th president, having returned to the office in 2024 after previously serving as the country's 11th president from 2008 to 2013. A senior leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), he is the first Pakistani head of state born after the country's independence and is the widower of former prime minister Benazir Bhutto.

In a congratulatory message issued on Sunday, Governor Kundi prayed for President Zardari's long life, good health, continued success and many more opportunities to serve the country and its people.

The governor described President Zardari as an experienced statesman and a strong supporter of reconciliation, saying he had played a significant role in strengthening democracy, safeguarding the Constitution and reinforcing the federation throughout his political career.

Kundi said the president's political wisdom and services to national unity would be remembered for years to come. He expressed confidence that Pakistan would continue to make progress towards democratic stability, stronger constitutional institutions and greater national harmony under President Zardari's leadership.

He added that the leadership and workers of the Pakistan Peoples Party, along with people across the country, extended their best wishes to the president on his birthday. The governor also prayed that Almighty Allah grant President Zardari good health, a long and happy life, and the strength to continue serving Pakistan.
