The Punjab Wildlife Department has rescued a pair of white lion cubs from Lahore's Kahna area and transferred them to Lahore Safari Zoo as part of an ongoing crackdown against illegal wildlife activities across the province.
According to a department spokesperson, the operation was carried out successfully, and the rescued cubs have been shifted to the Safari Zoo, where they will receive proper care and protection.
In a separate operation in Multan, authorities imposed a Rs50,000 fine on a suspect involved in the illegal trade of exotic birds.
Meanwhile, in Rajanpur, wildlife officials arrested a man for illegally hunting doves and imposed a Rs15,000 departmental fine.
The spokesperson said the enforcement operations conducted in Lahore, Multan and Rajanpur resulted in the recovery of Rs65,000 in fines from two offenders.
In another action, Wildlife Rangers in Mianwali acted promptly to stop an illegal partridge-fighting tournament, reinforcing the department's commitment to protecting wildlife and ensuring compliance with conservation laws.
