A US Congress delegation visited the Governor's House in Lahore on Sunday, where Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider welcomed the visiting members and held discussions on Pakistan-US relations and other issues of mutual interest.
According to an official statement, the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties and reviewing the positive momentum in relations between Pakistan and the United States. Both sides expressed satisfaction over the progress made in enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Punjab Governor Sardar Saleem Haider later hosted a dinner in honour of the visiting US delegation.
Speaking on the occasion, the governor said there was a need to strengthen bilateral relations between Pakistan and the United States. He emphasized that high-level exchanges play an important role in promoting mutual understanding, cultural interaction and cooperation across various sectors.
During the meeting, US Congressman Michael Baumgartner appreciated Pakistan's constructive role in efforts aimed at promoting peace between the United States and Iran. He expressed hope that Pakistan-US relations would continue to strengthen and expand in the years ahead.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to maintaining close engagement and enhancing cooperation on matters of mutual interest.
