Apple has introduced the MacBook Neo to its Certified Refurbished store, offering customers a lower-priced option following the company's recent increase in MacBook pricing. However, shoppers may still find better value by purchasing a brand-new device from other retailers.
The move comes a day after Apple raised prices across much of its product lineup, increasing the starting price of the MacBook Neo from $599 to $699.
The refurbished base model with 256GB of storage is now available through Apple's online store for $599, while the 512GB version with Touch ID is priced at $679. Both models are offered in four color options: Blush, Citrus, Indigo, and Silver.
According to Apple, every Certified Refurbished product undergoes a rigorous refurbishment process, includes a one-year limited warranty, is eligible for the company's 14-day return policy, and can be covered by AppleCare. Each MacBook Neo ships with a 20W USB-C power adapter and a USB-C charging cable.
Apple noted that inventory in its Certified Refurbished store may vary depending on product availability.
Despite the discounted pricing, consumers may still find better deals elsewhere. Amazon has not yet adjusted its prices to reflect Apple's latest increases, allowing customers to purchase a brand-new 256GB MacBook Neo for $589—$10 less than Apple's refurbished version.
Similarly, the new 512GB MacBook Neo with Touch ID is currently listed on Amazon for $689, just $10 more than Apple's refurbished offering but still well below Apple's new retail price of $799.
With Amazon's prices expected to rise in line with Apple's updated pricing, consumers looking to purchase a MacBook Neo may benefit from acting sooner rather than later.
