Religious figure Nasir Madni has publicly apologized to Pakistani actress Momina Iqbal after receiving a legal notice over his earlier remarks.
Nasir Madni addressed Momina Iqbal and her family directly, saying that if any of his previous statements had targeted her personally or caused hurt, he sincerely apologizes.
During his address, he also asked those present, including a legal representative referred to as Muntaha, to stand with him as a gesture of respect.
Stressing the importance of honoring women, he said that every daughter deserves the same respect, concluding with the Punjabi phrase, "Dhi te aakhir dhi hundi ae" (A daughter is, after all, a daughter).
The public apology comes after Momina Iqbal reportedly served a legal notice against the religious speaker.
His statement has since circulated widely on social media, where many users have been discussing the apology and the message of respecting women's dignity.
