Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi on Friday reviewed security and traffic arrangements for 10th Muharram, visiting various Imambargahs, procession routes and security deployment points across the federal capital.
During the visit, Rizvi inspected security measures, traffic management plans and duty points established for Ashura processions and gatherings. He directed officers to ensure foolproof security arrangements and maintain strict vigilance throughout the day.
He stressed that standard operating procedures (SOPs) must be implemented in letter and spirit, warning that negligence would not be tolerated under any circumstances.
He praised the dedication of Islamabad Police personnel, saying officials were performing their duties with commitment despite challenging weather conditions.
"I am proud of every officer and man who is present in the field during Muharram and performing his duties with diligence and passion," the IG said.
He added that Islamabad Police is utilizing all available resources to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of mourners participating in Muharram processions and religious gatherings.
The IG reiterated that Islamabad Police remains fully alert and deployed across the city to provide foolproof security, ensure effective traffic management and maintain a peaceful environment on the Day of Ashura.
