Former Pakistan fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar was seen attending the funeral prayers of his elder brother, Shahid Akhtar, at the H-8 Graveyard in Islamabad.
A video captures the solemn funeral prayer, with Shoaib Akhtar standing quietly among the mourners dressed in a black shalwar kameez.
Throughout the prayer, he is seen resting a comforting hand on the shoulder of his son standing beside him as the congregation follows the Imam through the four takbeers of the funeral prayer.
The gathering remained silent and composed as attendees completed the prayer before dispersing.
The loss has prompted an outpouring of condolences from fans and members of the public, who have expressed sympathy for Shoaib Akhtar.
Shoaib Akhtar is one of Pakistan's most celebrated former cricketers and is widely regarded as one of the fastest bowlers in cricket history.
Nicknamed the "Rawalpindi Express," he represented Pakistan from 1997 to 2011 and still holds the record for the fastest delivery officially recorded in international cricket at 161.3 km/h (100.23 mph).
Since retiring, he has built a successful career as a cricket analyst, television personality, and YouTuber.
