Veteran Pakistani actor Waseem Abbas has addressed the controversy surrounding his earlier comments about staying in a guest house instead of his son's home.
Waseem quoted that his remarks were taken out of context and misrepresented on social media.
Waseem Abbas explained that his decision had nothing to do with family problems.
Instead, he said it was a matter of respecting his children's personal space and avoiding inconvenience for his family.
The actor shared that his shooting schedules in Karachi are often unpredictable, with recordings continuing late into the night.
Because of this, his daughter-in-law would stay awake until he returned home to serve him freshly prepared food, despite his repeated requests for her not to wait.
To avoid placing that burden on her, Waseem Abbas said he prefers staying in a guest house during busy workdays.
Once his recordings are over or during weekends, he returns to stay with his son's family.
Rejecting speculation about any family rift, the veteran actor praised his son's upbringing, saying he is known throughout the entertainment industry for his respectful nature.
He added that someone who treats senior artists with such respect could never mistreat his own father.
Waseem Abbas also clarified that they continue to live as a close-knit joint family.
He shared that his daughter is currently visiting from Sweden, his daughter-in-law is with the family, and his son is expected to join them soon, while they also miss another daughter who lives in England.
